SDGs Training Canada 2020/2021

Bringing the United Nations' SDGs to you virtually

#CANYouth4SDGs
What SDGs Training Is All About

Since 2017, SDGs Youth Training Canada has mobilized 5,900+ students from 77 post-secondary institutions at 32 trainings across Canada.

We're bringing this program across Canada once again in 2020-2021!

We are inviting you to host the SDGs Training at your university, college, or high school campus virtually.

Participants will receive a 7-day video course, each 3-5 mins long, before attending the training to get a basic sense of what the SDGs are.

What to expect:

  • We will review the history of sustainable development, the structure of the SDGs (17 goals, 169 targets, 231 indicators), and examples of each of the 17 SDGs implemented by a variety of stakeholders.

  • We will bring a UN staff who will share how their agency or department underwent a transformation to implement the holistic SDGs in partnership with its communities.

  • We will review examples of SDGs implementation by young people across Canada and around the world.

  • We break up into small groups - taskforces - to develop an action plan for a specific and concrete way to implement the SDGs in the community.

Join the #CANYouth4SDGs movement through nation-wide networks on SDGs and direct engagement with UN staff by hosting the Training on your campus.
